A day of many of trials and just as many errors!!

After a great breakfast and a fun chat with Victor who we met in the Cornerhouse Cafe we proceeded towards Quesnel Lake only to find our way barred by fallen trees and the washed out river that had caused the fallen trees.

Difficult to see the washed out river behind me.

We assumed that there was a strong possibility of fuel at the location indicated on the GPS.

But we discovered that the village was called likely and fuel was available there.

Likely also brought up 15k km.  Quite a log way.

One of Likely's inhabitants who was of Dutch descent as you can see below.

The Likely Jetty even had seating.

The afternoon also had areas where we could not proceed and where we tried a workaround these were often impassable.  This river was supposed to have a bridge over it.  We could not see any evidence of a bridge or anywhere to cross.  A couple of locals we found told us that there was no way to get across the Cariboo River to the western bank without going back via Likely.  Even when we got across the river at likely the trail disappeared into the undergrowth at one spot and we tried a number of workarounds.  Though a sign showing road closed would have served the same purpose as the CAT digger parked across the road.  We thought about starting it so we could shift it but common sense for once prevailed.
