The Dakar Rally arrived the day before me and most had left before I travelled down to the start. There were still a lot of vehicles around but they were mostly those that had retired for one reason or another. It was great! Everywhere I stopped spectators thought that I was in the rally and they wanted their photographs taken with me. It must be what a rock star feels like. Better still when I told them I was not in the rally and that I was on a Round the World trip they were even more interested. How good do I feel :-))
